About Me, Julia Dawn

Hello, and thank you for visiting my site. Here's a little about me and why I chose to be a Farmasi BI (beauty influencer). How far do I go back?

Currently I work as a personal lines insurance broker, and have been one since 2004 with a couple of breaks. I kind of fell into the job as I was on disability due to a work injury, and a course to get my insurance license was offered to me at no cost. I checked it out and decided why not; looks like a good paying job. Although I may be good at what I do, I don't really enjoy it. In fact, I quit in August of 2011 to go back to school full time so I could get out of it. I took a two year Police Investigation program at Grant MacEwan in the hopes of getting into animal control with the city.  It wasn't until my last semester that I found out they only hired on contracts, and you wouldn't find out until the last minute if your contract was getting extended. They would finally hire you on as a city employee after being on contract for about 3 years. Well, I had a mortgage to pay (it was thanks to my grandmother that I was able to go back to school), so this was not an option for me. For a while I tried working for a security company, living off of an inheritance. This wasn't my thing, also I realized my mortgage was coming up for renewal and I wasn't going to qualify for it, so in July of 2014 back to insurance I went.
For the longest time I was called the crazy cat lady, and there are reasons for that. It all started with me showing my SPCA cats in cat shows, and while I was showing them, I fell in love with the Birman breed. My last SPCA cat, Bella, didn't like the show world and that's when I adopted Joey in 2004, my lilac point Birman. It didn't take long for me to decide that I wanted to breed this beautiful breed. On February 18, 2006 my first litter was born. After 5 breeding girls and 12 litters, my last litter was born April 4, 2016. And I continued to show my cats until March 2020 thanks to Covid, which in the end was okay as I was no longer enjoying them. I still have my last two breeding girls, Gurdie (12 years old) and Mishka (6 years old), and my old man uncle Joey (17 years old). With all of the comings and goings of cats and kittens, Joey was an amazing uncle to them all. I gave up breeding as it was time to start saving for retirement (breeding when it's done correctly, does not make you money; you’d be lucky to break even), and I was tired of being tied down. I wanted to be able to go away in the summer and live life as I was no longer a single crazy cat lady.

In June 2014 I met Mike, my partner in life.  It was no longer just me, my cats and dog, I had a future to figure out. After I decided to quit breeding we ended up taking in a litter of farm kittens. That was so much more rewarding than breeding cats. We took in 5 terrified kittens and nurtured them into 5 confident kittens and found them wonderful homes. I mention this as this is part of my why.

There are a number of reasons why I want to be successful with my Farmasi business. The thought of being able to retire early is one of the biggest reasons. It is my hope to one day move out of the city on to a nice acreage. Since I was a little girl I've wanted to live in the country and it so happens that Mike grew up on a farm and can't wait to get out of the city. Once I'm out there I would love to be able to foster dogs, pregnant cat mommas and kittens and run my own business, and not work for someone else doing something I don't enjoy. Our current dog Dixie is a rescue and she is the most amazing dog.  We had been looking for a rescue for a few months; coincidentally Dixie is a "Covid dog".  The day we officially adopted her was a Friday evening and little did I know then that I would be working from home for 15 months starting the following Monday. I really got used to working from home. I would wake up early to work out, get things done around the house on my lunch, and I happened to lose a fair but of weight. I've struggled with my weight my entire life. Now that I'm back working in the office, the time I used to workout I now have to commute. I didn't realize how draining commuting everyday was. To be able to work from home with my own hours running my own business is my goal. And I want to be able to help others get to that as well, or whatever some extra money would help them with.  The team that I am part of is full of amazing women that just want to help each other and build each other up; they have become dear friends to me. I can't wait to see how our team grows with this amazing company.

Why Farmasi, specifically? They are a family run business that treats you like family. They listen to your concerns and do something about it. We are getting an entirely new website, because Farmasi listened. A big deal to me is that Farmasi does not test anything on animals, animal ingredients are not used in any of their products, nor are endangered plants. Majority of their products including packaging are made directly in their Turkey factory called FarmaCity. It’s called FarmaCity because there are 10 different factories across 3 million square feet. This is why their high quality products are at an affordable price; they’ve cut out the middle man. They also are one of the higher paying MLMs out there. I would love for you to join me on this journey of financial freedom and friendship.
